Phonics

Why learn Phonics?

(Best for 4+ years old)

Phonics instruction is a way of teaching reading that focuses on the importance of letter-sound relationships and their use in reading, spelling, and writing. The primary focus of phonics instruction is to help beginning readers understand how letters are linked to sounds (also known as phonemes) to form letter-sound correspondences and spelling patterns and to help them learn how to apply this knowledge in their reading.

Phonics Classes Introduction by Ms. Morgan

Study Goals & Achievements

A child who learns reading through phonics will have excellent phonemic awareness, which is the ability to hear, identify, and manipulate letter symbols with their appropriate sound. Extensive reading helps children broaden their vocabulary and general knowledge. Phonics allows young readers to develop their reading comprehension and decode new words as they read. With practice, this action becomes so automatic that they are able to easily understand the overall meaning of words while they are reading.
