Aquatic Life Explorer (Recommended Grade Level: G1-5)

Apex is committed to continue bringing you high quality educational and engaging learning experiences. In August, we will introduce you to the aquarium stay home learning curriculum that will bring you eye to eye with animals and their remarkable underwater biology and aquatic biodiversity. Integrated with videos, readings, and fun activities, students will embark on their journey as an animal scientist during this four-week activity series. Each week, students will learn about one of aquatic animals, including penguins, turtles, sharks, and fish. 

The course will introduce a series of aquatic animals, their characteristics, living environments, scientific basis for some of their body parts, as well as interesting scientific experiments and art and craft. Through this course, students will gain understanding of some basic scientific principles and learn to write scientific journals.

For example, to study physical characteristics of penguins’ feet, our students will do an experiment using finger paddles, and paddling with plastic bags on hand to compare the amount of strokes.
