About Apex Academy
Apex Academy is a Maryland based educational organization, providing after school enrichment programs to elementary school students. With highly experienced teachers and advanced curricula, Apex’s programs align and exceed state and county curriculum requirements. Apex academic programs are carefully designed to promote skill building and fun learning, and cultivate positive learning habits which will prepare the students to excel in the next level of school and achieve academic success.
Programs provided by Apex Academy include small sized group classes and personalized private tutoring, concentrating on English reading, writing, and presentation skills, math and English fundamentals, fun science, and mandarin Chinese.
Starting from local schools in Maryland, Apex after school programs have been growing rapidly to surrounding areas. Since the pandemic , Apex Academy continues to provide high quality online academic enrichment classes to more students from east coast to west coast of the US.

Apex Academy believes each student has the right to receive resources and work to their full potential to success. Our mission is to decode students’ brain powers through personalized instruction and intensive practices, and help each student achieve extraordinary academic outcomes.
About the Founders
Apex Academy is founded and run by two Maryland passionate moms with higher education degrees in science and business areas.
Mrs. Jingxiu Forney
Jingxiu obtained her MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Minnesota, and BS in Applied Physics from Northeastern University of China.
Jingxiu is an education advocate. She has been volunteering at the local elementary school and middle school for years. She is also a founder and owner of another online school that provides English and Humanities education to students around the world. In addition to the operation management of the online education, Jingxiu also has rich experience in curriculum design, education consultation, and teacher training.
Jingxiu’s previous professional experience also includes VP of Business Support at Bank of America and design engineer at Philips Semiconductors. As a parent, Jingxiu has been teaching her own child Math and Chinese for over 7 years, and read to her child every night. She has been constantly looking for a better after school curriculum to fit her child’s learning needs. Jingxiu is eager to share her knowledge with other students and their families. With the passion and experiences in the education and business management skills, Jingxiu will direct Apex Academy into success.
Amy Li
Amy has a BS degree in Computer Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Through the education experience of her own children from Montessori schools, private schools, public schools and at-home after school learnings, Amy has seen high quality education makes a huge difference on children, and it is necessary to students at all levels. Through providing her children vigorous supplemental practices in math, English and Chinese, Amy has helped her children grow rapidly in academics. She is inspired to share the proven experience to many students to achieve their education goals.
Amy was a computer system consultant engineer with 11 years working experience on enterprise UNIX systems and various software supports. With more than 5 years working experience with IBM, and 7 years working with MetLife, Amy has rich experience on consulting clients in public and private sectors, including banking, insurance, energy, government, and industrial companies. Amy is a self-motivated problem-solver with strong ability to multitask, and can handle high levels of complexity, and carry out projects from beginning to completion. Amy is a people person, and her customer support skills and passion in education will definitely bring Apex Academy in business development success and maintain high customer satisfactions.
